Maritime Flag – Red Ensign (printed)
The Red Ensign (red field with the Union Flag in the canton) defaced by a badge is flown by Trinity House and various organisations and yacht clubs. Merchant ships and private vessels registered in British territories and dependencies, and in several Commonwealth realms, fly the Red Ensign defaced by the badge of their territory.
The Red Ensign undefaced is for the use of all other British merchant navy ships and private craft. The Red Ensign is the correct flag to be worn as courtesy flag by foreign private vessels in United Kingdom waters. Merchant vessels from British overseas territories and Crown dependencies are entitled to red ensigns defaced with the badge of their territory.

Information
Nautical Flags
A maritime flag is a flag designated for use on ships, boats, and other watercraft. Naval flags are considered important at sea and the rules and regulations for the flying of flags are strictly enforced. The flag flown is related to the country of registration: so much so that the word “flag” is often used symbolically as a synonym for “country of registration”.
All our flags are all made in high quality, durable fabric. All of our materials are Ministry of Defence approved, and feature a special reinforcement system, which is added during manufacture. Logos and text are either dye printed or appliqué sewn. Our attention to detail ensures that all flags are faithfully reproduced. We can also advise you on the size of flag, type of material and the right fixing system for your particular location.
We can deliver our flags all around the UK.
